Discovery Dollars Fundraising Program
The HGMICS Discovery Dollars Fundraising program is a painless way for you to support your child’s school!
The program works like this: The local merchants on the attached order form sell us gift certificates to their stores at a discount (usually 5%). You in turn purchase the gift certificates from the school at face value. For example, Price Chopper sells Howard Gardner School a $100 gift certificate for $95. You then purchase that $100 Price Chopper gift certificate from the school and pay $100 for it, and the school has just made a profit of $5.
Five dollars may not sound like much, but it adds up quickly when all our families participate. The proceeds are used to help offset the costs of various school expenses such as field trips and classroom supplies.
If you regularly shop at any of the stores listed, we would greatly appreciate your participation in this program.
The certificates can be purchased (with cash or check) two ways: by sending in the order form and payment in your child’s folder and we will return the certificates to you in the folder; or your can purchase them from Renee in the office at your convenience. Order forms are available in the office.
