Pre-school & Kindergarten (ages 3-5)
Pre-Primary 1
Pre-Primary I is thrilled beyond words to announce that we have a new computer in our class. I am sure most of your children have told you! It is a very large touch screen computer and we are all having a blast!
I am continuing to use the Starfall Program, which is very exciting. It covers many levels and concepts in Math and Reading. The children all have an assigned 20 minute time to work on skills each week. Of course, they are finding new programs within before I do! It is so exciting to watch them explore and discover.
There was a wonderful turn out for March observations. I know you children really enjoyed sharing their talents with you. So, thanks for taking time out of your busy schedules to come to our class.
It is hard to believe that there is only a little more than two months of school left. We still have many great new works to present and when it gets to really be “spring”, we will have many exciting works with water!!! They will be in the practical life and geography areas. So be prepared for your little one to be asked to go to a cape, bay, gulf, strait or even an isthmus for a summer vacation!!
Enjoy the nice weather (if) when it gets here!!!

Pre-Primary 2
I am Jaci Sandercock and am the teacher in this class. My assistant is Pita MacFarland. We have been working together for 8 years. I have a Bachelor’s degree from Marywood University and am certified as a Montessori teacher for 3-6 year olds.
We are very excited because we have two new touch computers in our class. All of the children are using them. The children are working on the sites Starfall and ABC Mouse. The children seemed to enjoy Marywood’s Sleeping Beauty. It was fun taking the school bus. We are busily preparing for our Mother’s Day Tea performance. The children are eagerly awaiting this day.
Pre-Primary 3
Sara Wintermute is the classroom teacher and Betsy Briganti is the classroom assistant. Sara graduated in 2009 from Lycoming College with an Elementary Teaching Certification and a BA in History. We have 6 kindergarten children and 12 preschool in our classroom for a total of 18. We have a lot of new friends this year and are excited to get to know them.
The month of March brings Dr. Seuss’ birthday, shamrocks, leprechauns, and the first day of spring! Our class has been very busy! To celebrate Dr. Seuss’ birthday, the kindergarteners made their own “There’s a Wocket in My Pocket!” They made their own leprechaun traps too! Check out our class photos below.
The preschoolers and kindergarteners have been busy with colors. They made magic shamrocks by mixing yellow and blue paint together and lots of rainbow art. Pictures of these will be coming soon!
