Food Service

Welcome to the Howard Gardner Multiple Intelligence Charter School cafeteria! HGMICS is dedicated to serving nutritious hot lunches to our students.

Our food service staff prepares meals for our students and staff in our on-site, state-of-the-art kitchen. Complete lunches are prepared fresh daily and include five components: Meat/Meat Alternate, Grain, Fruit, Vegetable, and Milk. Parents can rest assured that their students are receiving a complete meal and that no foods are ever fried!

Wellness Policy

Special Dietary Needs

  • Accommodating Children with Special Dietary Needs within the HGMICS Nutrition Program
  • If a child has been determined by a doctor to be disabled and the disability would prevent the child from eating regular school meals, HGMICS will make substitutions as prescribed by the student's doctor. If a substitution is needed, there will be no additional charge.
  • Our Food Services department will attempt to make substitutions for students who have a special dietary need, but do not meet the definition of disability (ie. food intolerances). Lactose-Free Milk is available for those students with a non-disabling special dietary need, such as milk intolerance, or due to cultural, religious or ethnic beliefs.
  • To discuss your child's disability or special dietary need, please contact:
School Nurse: Amy Ryan, RN, BSN, CSN at amy.ryan@myhgsd.com  or Food Service Supervisor: Dawn Miller at dawn.miller@myhgsd.com
